This program encourages Club members to learn and practice black-and-white, color, digital and alternative process photography by participating in fun, creative activities. The program culminates with a local photography show at the Hutchinson Art Center. Winners of the local show have the opportunity to have their photographs sent to the next level for regional and national recognition. Club members’ photographs selected at the contest’s national level are exhibited at BGCA’s National Conference and other events.
National Fine Arts Program
This year-round program encourages artistic expression among Club members through drawing, painting, printmaking, collage, mixed media and sculpture.
Once members have created their masterpiece a local art exhibit is held at the Hutchinson Art Center where a panel of judges selects works from each category to be sent to a regional competition with the hopes of it being selected for inclusion in the National Fine Arts Exhibit, which is displayed throughout the ensuing year at BGCA events, including the annual National Conference.
