Boys & Girls Clubs of Hutchinson Awarded Lowe's Renovation Across the Nation Grant
The Boys & Girls Clubs of Hutchinson received a $50,000 grant from Lowe’s as a part of the Renovation Across the Nation initiative, which granted 50 Clubs around the country with grants and volunteer support to complete much-needed improvements and renovations. The Boys & Girls Clubs of Hutchinson was selected as the signature Club in the state of Kansas!
As the need to update facilities increases and maintenance costs rise, Lowe’s support will help the Hutchinson Club make critical improvements to ensure the Club remains a safe and inviting place for Hutchinson youth who need them most.
Boys & Girls Club members have already been involved with the project by participating in focus groups that have identified the areas of the Club they would like to see improved. Skip Wilson,Chief Professional Officer for the Club stated, “It is very important that our members have a voice in the entire process of renovating and improving our Club. We can’t thank Lowe’s enough for this opportunity, what a wonderful gift and we look forward to working with them on this project.”
Club members will be painting a customized mural exclusive to all Renovation Across the Nation Clubs. The original mural was designed by a Club member in Florida and represents what belonging to a Club means to the young people who make Boys & Girls Club part of their lives.
The Hutchinson Boys & Girls Club is one of over 4,000 clubs located across the country serving 4.1 million youth.
